Our History

Immigrants Rights was established in January 2017 by our Executive Director, Tony Silvestri. We have been providing affordable immigration legal representation in Monterey County out of our Salinas office since our inception in January 2017. Since that time, we have provided free consultations for hundreds of individuals and have represented hundreds of clients on their immigration matters.

We have carefully built our reputation as an organization that low-income immigrants in Monterey County can trust. We receive our clients as referrals from local nonprofits who trust us and from former clients satisfied with our help. Local Salinas branches of large organizations refer cases to us when there is a complicated immigration-related legal matter requiring an attorney.

We have expanded our immigration representation to rural areas throughout Northern  and Central California.

Current Status: (COVID-19)

Our office is currently open. Please call us to schedule an appointment.

What We Do

We represent clients on a wide array of immigration applications. The goal of each application is to obtain legal status in the United States. Our representation includes DACA initial applications and renewals, applications for asylum, family petitions, waivers of inadmissibility, applications for residency ("green card"),cU.S. Permanent Resident Card (“green card”) renewals, consular processing, U-visas, VAWA (“Violence Against Women Act”) applications, applications for citizenship, and various other applications. We also provide immigration court representation on immigration court cases to clients in Northern California.
